Ngozi Udeh (b. 1998) graduates from the University of Lagos in 2025. She shoots exclusively on medium-format film with a Hasselblad she bought secondhand.
Her work has been shown at photography festivals in Lagos, Johannesburg, and Addis Ababa. She develops all her own film.
"Lagos never stops. But people do—for a second, here and there. That's what I'm looking for."
'Lagos Pauses' is about people resting in public. A trader between customers. A mechanic taking a break. Kids watching the street. I wait for those moments.
Materials
Hasselblad 500C/M, black-and-white film, cotton rag paper for prints.
Process
Street photography, hand-developed film, archival printing. Multiple test prints per final image.
